It’s confirmed. USCIS will run the H-1B lottery this year through a registration process. Between March 1 -20, employers can register to file an H-1B petition, and if selected, file a petition for an employee candidate. The registration fee is a mere $10, but employers first must open an account with the government to pay the fee. Then employers will have to register their intent to file an H-1B petition. The registration process is relatively simple, but there are some strict rules that if violated will eliminate the employer from the lottery. For example, employers can only file one petition per beneficiary. Employers must also decide which is the appropriate cap option to seek when indicating the candidate’s degree level. Contact us if you hope to petition for new H-1B workers. We can get to work on it right away.
