The Department of State (DOS) Diversity Lottery has closed again. The online program registration for the DV-2014 program concluded on Saturday, November 3rd, 2012. And while DV applicants may receive an email from the U.S. government reminding them to check their status online through DV Entrant Status Check, applicants should beware any email notices purportedly from DOS informing them they have been selected for the lottery. This is another red flag because DOS does not send notification letters or emails informing applicants that they were selected for further DV processing. Applicants can only verify if they were selected by checking their status online through the DV Entrant Status Check.
