Effective January 26, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will require aircraft passengers entering the U.S. from abroad to present a negative COVID-19 test or proof of recovery from COVID-19 after a prior infection. If you rely on test results, they must be from a specimen taken during the three-day window before the flight’s departure. If your are seeking entry based on a recovery, the positive COVID-19 test result must be within 90 days prior to the flight. This rule does not replace or modify the Presidential Proclamations restricting travel that are already in place for the United Kingdom, Brazil, the Schengen Area, China, or Iran. Because these rules are subject to change, we strongly recommend contacting one of our attorneys before traveling internationally. We would be happy to schedule a consultation, if needed.
