DACA UPDATE

September 5, 2017

Today the Administration rescinded DACA. Congress MUST pass ameliorative legislation to preserve the life and rights of DACA recipients who have spent most of their lives in the United States. The government plans to wind down DACA, as follows:

  • Reject new DACA applications received after today, September 5, 2017.
  • Adjudicate pending extension requests
  • Allow existing DACA work authorization to remain valid throughout the validity period
  • Accept applications for extensions from DACA beneficiaries whose status will expire between September 8, 2017, and March 5, 2018, provided the application is accepted for filing as of October 5, 2017

Contact your attorney for a full evaluation and for more information on the impact of the rescission.
