The Department of Justice issued a proposed rule that would increase its efforts to eliminate discrimination in hiring and unauthorized employment. If the rule is finalized, it will allow the Justice Department to expand the prohibition on discrimination beyond the I-9 and E-Verify. By doing so, the government will be able to examine more closely how employers hire and monitor employees. Employers should meet with an attorney to evaluate how their immigration policies will be impacted if the rule is finalized.
