The Department of Homeland Security has proposed revoking the rule that provides employment authorization to certain H-4 spouses. The H-4 employment rule was put in place in 2015 as an important benefit to families whose permanent residence was delayed due to the extended visa backlog. It allows the spouses of H-1B workers to use their skills and contribute to their households and the U.S. economy.
The elimination of this rule will create significant hardship for many highly skilled H-1B professionals and their families. We urge you to write to Congress to help influence the outcome of the H-4 employment rule.
