USCIS announced that as of March 22, 2019, it will only accept the revised Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, with an edition date of February 4, 2019. It’s important to act quickly because as of March 22, 2019, every co-applicant included on the principal’s Form I-539 application must submit and sign a separate Form I-539A. It will also require a biometric (fingerprint) fee of $85 for almost all visa categories, and each applicant and co-applicant, regardless of age, will need to appear at a biometrics office for fingerprinting. If you need to file Form I-539, you should try to mail in your I-539 so that USCIS receives it no later than March 21. Contact our office right away so we can ensure your employees’ family members remain in valid status.
