On May 29, 2018, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released its Proposed Rule to withdraw the International Entrepreneur Parole Program. This program was designed to attract investments in the U.S. and grow the economy. This program also benefited international entrepreneurs who are not eligible under another immigration classification, such as E-1, E-2, or EB-5. This is an unfortunate move by the government, as the program would have benefited many entrepreneurs and provided an added boost to our economy. This rule is another example of the current administration’s anti-immigration position. According to the proposed rule, DHS will still adjudicate any pending applications under the existing rule. DHS is accepting comments regarding the proposed rule until June 28, 2018. To submit a comment to DHS, click on https://www.fwd.us/ier.
