Your Social Media Postings are Open to Review

June 13, 2019

Applying for a U.S. non-immigrant or immigrant visa? If so, you’ll need to gather information about your social media activities. Pursuant to a new policy of the Department of State Visa Office, visa applicants must now provide their social media history for the past five years, as well as account addresses and phone numbers. Because consular officers will likely need to closely research and review this information, it could cause more incidents of “administrative processing” or more realistically known as delays in visa processing. Be sure to plan accordingly and check with your attorney at Rose Immigration Law Firm if you have questions.
