- cover fewer than 120 days;
- are valued at less than $100,000 (simplified acquisition threshold);
- involve only work performed abroad;
- and include only commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) items and related services.
Also, if the contract does not specifically require the employer to register for E-Verify, the employer is not subject to mandatory registration.
The USCIS website for E-Verify is www.dhs.gov/e-verify. E-Verify is available for all employers, not just those with federal contracts. However, E-Verify is fairly complex, so we do not recommend it for all companies.
