Managing Attorney
Doug Russo is the Owner and Managing Attorney of Rose Immigration Law Firm. He has more than a decade of experience in immigration law, representing corporate clients across automotive, manufacturing, higher education, retail, technology, and healthcare, along with individuals in family-based and naturalization matters.
Doug started working at Rose Immigration Law Firm as a second-year law student, where he worked primarily on O-1 extraordinary ability cases for foreign national artists. This was a perfect match for his background in music and desire to help artists. While working as a law clerk, Doug also found that he shared the firm’s values about how immigration law should be practiced: close attention to detail, high quality of work, and the desire to think of all possible solutions to successfully advocate for clients.
Over the years, Doug has represented world-class artists and entertainers, companies ranging from a few employees to Fortune 500 companies, and families and individuals seeking permanent residence and naturalization. As his practice grew, he became a partner in the firm in 2019 and acquired the firm in 2021.
Before law school, Doug earned a Bachelor of Music in music technology, summa cum laude, and worked full time as a musician for Royal Caribbean and Holland America. Traveling and performing music with other artists internationally gave him an appreciation for different cultures and an understanding of the sacrifices immigrants often make to find a better life for themselves and their families. That experience also shaped his representation of musicians, performers, and others in the entertainment industry.
Doug serves as Treasurer of the MidSouth Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has served multiple terms on AILA’s national Publications Committee. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star since 2020 and was named to the Nashville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2025.
Outside the firm, Doug spends his time with his family, at sporting events and concerts, traveling, and on the water.
